Children's & Youth Ministries

Nursery

We thank our many volunteers who serve with Tina Pack, our full-time nursery staff, in the nursery and crib rooms. The volunteers continue to nurture the children spiritually as well as care for them.

Sunday School

Sunday School remains our primary vehicle for Christian Education for children and youth. Classes meet weekly, September through May. Dedicated teachers, many of whom have been serving for a number of years, work hard to provide informative and interesting educational environments. Sunday School teachers have a crucial role in a child's faith development, and we're fortunate to have a teaching staff full of people willing to give of themselves in this important ministry.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a summertime activity for youth of all ages, including some of our "older" group.  A nourishing meal and several fun activities, with singing, crafts, movies, and bible study.

Youth

Among the activities enjoyed by our high and middle school youth were a scavenger hunt, making and decorating cookies, Super Bowl party, bowling, taco party, Easter Egg hunt, treasure hunt, "Sundae" party, luau/swim party, haunt the halls, Winter Olympics & goofy games.

One of the projects our middle schoolers worked on was helping the Mission Committee by filling Christmas stockings with donations from the congregation for distribution by the Salvation Army.

Junior Church/Worship Workshop

This has been in place for about four years. It attempts two things: first, it is an opportunity for the children of the church to build a relationship in a less formal worship service. Second, it replaces the least child-accessible part of our worship service - the adult sermon - with a message and related activities at the grade school level.
