What Do We Believe?
God – Amazing as it may seem, God, the Eternal One, desires a relationship
with us, you and me. God seeks us out throughout our lives and offers us
salvation through the only begotten Son, Jesus.
Jesus – The only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, who came to save us from ourselves and from our sins. Jesus was “God in the flesh” on earth, so that men and women could see the love of God up close and personal.
Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is the third person in the God Trinity, fully God, Who reaches out to us each and every day, offering us multitudes of chances to relate with God. This is the “change agent” in believer’s lives and in the world empowering lives that reflect the lifestyle, values and character of Jesus, offering understanding and application of God’s word for each of us. And, the Holy Spirit is actively transforming each follower of Jesus into Christ’s image, and is actively working within the Christian community and in the world to bring about God’s plan of redemption for all people and all creation.
The Church – The body of Christ in the world, the Church, a spiritual organism made up of all those who have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who are called to live in fellowship and worship together, giving of themselves and serving the world for Christ.
CORE VALUES:
Knowing God - is possible because God seeks us first. We human beings have a thirst for God and a hole in our makeup that only God can fill. Knowing God will bring peace and contentment through faith in Jesus Christ.
Authentic Love - is experienced through intentional fellowship and is more likely experienced when people are in relationship with each other through face-to-face interaction, especially learning groups and small groups.
Nurturing Families – We are called to invest significant resources in developing high quality ministries with children, youth, student and adult ministries, which helps to strengthen families.
Contagious Joy – We seek to share the good news of Christ with neighbors, and bring hurting people to MSPC. It is through God glorifying worship that we most fully express this contagious joy first hand.
Healthy Lifestyles – Heeding God’s Word provides physical, emotional, and financial benefits that sustain us through times of difficulty, shortage and suffering. When combined with faith in God’s continuous provision, we can resist some of the temptations in the world to worry.
Keeping Commitments – We believe that people become what they are committed to, so we offer participants the opportunity to grow through freely chosen promises called covenants.
Purposeful Mission – The world around us is changing rapidly and is always in need of love, touch, understanding, compassion, and energy for change. This congregation is committed to bringing God’s goodness to as many people and groups in our area and the world as possible. We encourage you to join us in making lives matter and thereby finding significance in your own life.
Enduring Faith – Times are uncertain and circumstances difficult right now. When we trust God in these times as well as when times are good and satisfying we will find God’s presence with us and God’s Holy Spirit’s power within us.
Whole-Hearted Worship – We seek to bring God joy in our honor and praise as we celebrate worship. We offer excellent worship services, using contemporary and traditional music, led by passionate and growing disciples.
