Our Ministries:
Mission – is the way we express our thankfulness to God for all of God’s provision to us by desiring to bring quality to others lives through our service. At MSPC, we have numerous local and community outreach opportunities that we support and serve, and we have also served the wider world though Plumpynut collections and provided safe drinking water by building 36 shallow wells in Malawi, Africa. In 2010, our Mission efforts will include a variety of projects to serve our local community.
Purpose Driven Presbyterian Church – MSPC is part of the network of Presbyterian churches around the U.S. that has read and adapted Rick Warren’s best seller The Purpose Driven Church. Through these Presbyterian adapted approaches we attempt to be relevant to our culture while staying anchored to God’s truths.
175th – In 2009, we at MSPC celebrated 175 years of serving God and people in Lima, Ohio. We celebrated through a host of different experiences, including “Kirkin’ of the Tartan”, Fall Festival, a simplified décor for Christmas (much like the earliest Presbyterian church in Lima), concerts, programs, and a street dance.
Lunch Out – is a program designed for persons who choose to eat lunch out together following worship on Sundays to strengthen relationships and nurture one another around a meal.
Adopt a Friend – is just beginning with folks adopting someone to call on, or bring to events, or befriend due to any number of life circumstances. It is our hope that fewer people in this world will be lonely as a result.
Other ministries – there are a host of other ministries, from being the designated welcomer, to serving on either of 2 boards, serving on the ministry teams of the church, helping with the newsletter, teaching Sunday School, helping with the various youth clubs, joining the choir, joining the Praise Band for the Alternative Service and more.
